Isuzu Low Emmission Range

Isuzu Trucks has emerged from the first half of 2011 with a 23 per cent year to date (YTD) share of the total Australian truck market.

The June T-Mark figures reveal Isuzu is now almost 10 per cent ahead of its nearest competitor in market share YTD, marking a solid outcome for the brand in a domestic market that recorded its worst June truck sales result since 2004.

For so long the standard-bearer in the Light Duty Segment, Isuzu captured a solid 36.9 per cent share YTD of this market nationwide - over 17 per cent share more than its nearest rival.

Isuzu also leads the Medium Duty Segment with 37.9 per cent market share, while its 8.2 per cent share of the Heavy Duty segment is on par with 2010 YTD figures.

Isuzu Low Emission Range

IAL Director and Chief Operating Officer, Phil Taylor, said while Australia was faring relatively well in the turbulent economic environment, it was not immune to the recent lull affecting commercial vehicle sales around the world.

"Yes, it's been a challenging period but Isuzu has consolidated its number one position in Australia and maintains a healthy total market share," Mr Taylor said.

"We are now well-placed to build our share in all market segments as demand for commercial vehicles slowly - but steadily - increases."

Mr Taylor said the cleanliness of Isuzu's Euro V engines had proven a key consideration for people who were weighing their options in the new truck market.

"This sentiment is borne by the solid sales of our Euro V models since released in late 2010," Mr Taylor said.

"In fact, we sold our 2000th Euro V truck in July and there is no sign that demand will abate any time soon."

Isuzu's Euro V line-up is not only its cleanest range ever released in Australia, it is also among the cleanest conventional diesel-powered models on the market.

In fact, Isuzu's entire N and F Series ranges of light and medium-duty trucks meet the most stringent emissions benchmark governing internal combustion engines anywhere in the world - the voluntary European Environmentally-friendly Vehicle (EEV) standard.

EEV-compliant trucks emit at least 33 per cent less particulate matter (PM) and 25 per cent less carbon monoxide (CO) than those that only meet the minimum Euro V requirement.

The N and F Series ranges not only meet the EEV standard, they exceed it by some way*, emitting 80 per cent less PM and 99.3 per cent less CO than the minimum EEV benchmark levels.

The N and F Series ranges are also much cleaner in terms of NOx (14 per cent less than EEV) and hydrocarbon emissions (90 per cent less than EEV).

All of this is achieved with no reduction in power or torque from their Euro IV predecessors.
